WIM Bernadette Galas

Most often addressed as “Badette” in Chess community, is a graduate of De La Salle University (2019 – AB Sports Studies – AB Philippine Studies Major in Filipino in Mass Media, Athletics Awardee and multiple-time Gawad Lasalyano Awardee).

She was a former member and captain of De La Salle University Chess Team.

She was a former National Champion and also represented the country in several international tournaments like World Olympiad, ASEAN Age Groups, Zonals, etc.

She is one of the active top Woman International Master in the country and a member of Philippine National Team since 2014.

Currently, she is working as a Chess Coach in Don Bosco Technical Institute, Makati (Elementary and High school).


WFM Cherry Ann Mejia

Most often addressed as “Che” by the Chess community, is a graduate of De La Salle University (2018-BS Psychology, Multiple-time Gawad Lasalyano Awardee).

A former Team Captain of the DLSU Women’s Chess Team and a former member of DLSU Chess Varsity Team.

She is an active Woman FIDE Master and a National Athlete in the Philippines. Currently, she is one of the top female chess players in the country.

She is also working as an online Chess coach at chess.com and a Chess influencer at Youtube.


AGM Rowelyn-Joy Acedo

Rowelyn is also known as “Joy” or “Kajoy” in chess community and a proud Davaoeña. She is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts Major in Sports Studies and Bachelor of Arts Major in Psychology in De La Salle University and a recipient of Athletic and Gawad Lasalyano Awardee of Batch 2018.

Joy was former team captain of DLSU Women’s Chess Team.

She was recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Athletes in Davao City due to her terrific performance and proudly represented Davao and Philippines to various national and international chess tournaments.

Joy is currently working in one of the well-known Business Process Outsourcing Industry in the Philippines and an English Online Teacher at the same time. Despite her hectic schedule on her career, she still manages to balance her career and passion, playing chess.


Kyla Joy Camacho

Kyla is a graduate of De La Salle University (Bachelor of Science major in Information Technology, Multiple-time Gawad Lasalyano awardee).

She was part of the multiple-titled UAAP Champion team, De La Salle University Lady Woodpushers where she served as Assistant Captain.

Currently, Kyla is pursuing a professional career as a licensed Information Technology specialist.
