About Me

Hi! I am Arena Grand Master Rowelyn-Joy Acedo, 24 years old from Davao City, Philippines. I am a licensed National Trainer. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Arts Major in Sports Studies and Bachelor of Arts Major in Psychology in De La Salle University. I’m an active member of the United Queens Chess Club, the first and only established all-female chess club in the Philippines. I’ve been coaching for almost 3 years already and I am an Online English Teacher at the same time. 

Playing Experience

I’ve been competing for more than 17 years already. I represented my city and my country in several tournaments such as Batang Pinoy, National Age Group, National Junior, Battle of the Grand Master, Asean+ Age Group and World Youth. 

Teaching Methodology

I do assessments and evaluations to my students by playing with them for a few games to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The lesson will matter depending on the level of my students. I conduct my online classes thru skype.

Teaching Experience

I trained a lot of kids here in my city for almost 3 years and most of them are beginners/ novice. I am a licensed National Trainer and one of the mentors of United Queens Chess Club and we are conducting online tournaments, simultaneous and training programs.
